This permanent health-related job requires fluency in English and entails working 35 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have completed a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting 1 to 2 years, with 1 to less than 2 years of relevant experience.
Tasks:
Explain procedures
Operate X-ray, radiographic, and fluoroscopic equipment
Operate radiation therapy equipment
Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
Position patients
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals materials to patients or biological samples
Train technicians, assistants, students, or interns
Assist radiation oncologists and clinical physicists with preparation of radiation treatment plan
Assist in the preparation of sealed radioactive materials and the construction of plaster casts and acrylic moulds
Perform diagnostic procedures using radioactive materials on biological specimens
Record and process results of procedures
Apply radiation protection measures
Explain procedures and side effects of radiation
Perform basic verification and quality control checks on radiographic and film processing equipment
Record and process patient data
Provide appropriate care and monitoring of the patient during the examination
