**Overview:**

The Medical Radiation Technologist is responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient performance of a variety of procedures. The MRT will use independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the application of ionizing radiation.

**Qualifications:**

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiation Technology Program
  • CMRTO registration and CAMRT registration
  • Advanced Practice Certificates in additional sub-specialties an asset (GI Fluoroscopy, CT, Mammo)
  • Current CPR Certification preferred

    • **Experience**

  • Minimum 1 year experience in general imaging
  • Experience in mammography, and/or ultrasound and/or CT an asset
  • Working with PACS/HIS/RIS and in multiple modalities

    • **Required Skills:**

  • Ability to handle stressful situations and changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, on call, and statutory holidays
  • Able to maintain an effective working relationship with patients, physicians, hospital staff, and the public.
  • Computer literate and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications (Hospital Software experience an asset)
  • Demonstrates initiative and good judgment in problem-solving and identifying opportunities for action
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication, verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Professional demeanor and excellent attendance are required
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance and preventative maintenance processes
  • Responsible to ensure optimal: patient flow, equipment operation, and procedures
  • Consistently meets attendance expectations, demonstrating reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts
