CASA Classrooms: A program providing therapy, psychiatric care, medication management, and schooling within community schools, in partnership with the Government of Alberta and school divisions.
Job Details:
- Wage range: $44.03 to $56.50 + $9 per hour CASA Classrooms premium
- Vacation: ~13 days per year
- Shift structure: Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day
- Primary location: Edmonton
- Union: In-Scope
- Classification: Mental Health Therapist
- FTE: 1.0 for the duration of the school year
- Status: Temporary until January 2027
About the Role: The Mental Health Therapist works collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical service delivery, adhering to ethical practices and evidence-informed principles.
- Work with CASA team and external supports to provide mental health therapies.
- Complete mental health assessments and treatment plans.
- Help caregivers build specialized parenting skills.
- Conduct case management functions and supervise student placements.
- Contribute to staff knowledge and understanding.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, or occupational therapy.
- Active registration with relevant Alberta professional bodies.
- Minimum of two years of clinical practice in child and family mental health.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Conditions of Employment:
- Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check.
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification.
