Key Responsibilities:

Perform data management tasks

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field

Previous research experience preferred

Position Description

The Clinical Research Project Assistant works closely with the Clinical Research Coordinator, and Principal Investigator to assist in study operations. This position includes many of the basic tasks of the clinical research process. The Research Assistant will be an integral part of the IQCPIC team that will be based out of SickKids.

The Improving the Quality of Canadian Paediatric Injury Care (IQCPIC) team has obtained CIHR funding to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment aimed at identifying quality improvement priorities for future interventions in paediatric injury care. This project is crucial to shaping the national strategy for enhancing the quality of care provided to children with injuries across Canada.

Here's What You'll Get To Do

Perform data management including checking transcripts, checking data for accuracy and completeness, scoring data, entering data and data cleaning
 Assisting with the recruitment of participants, including phone/email participants to confirm interviews or followup on study requirements
 Assisting with conducting interviews with participants
 Conducting qualitative analysis and knowledge synthesis
 Perform literature searches, reference management (EndNote/Zotero), and assist with figure/table preparation for presentations, grants, and manuscripts
 Other administrative tasks as required

Here's What You'll Need

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Health Sciences, Biology, Neuroscience).
 Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to engage patients and families using empathy and personcentered language
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, REDCap, NVivo and other data management systems.
 Previous qualitative and quantitative research experience is preferred
 Ability to function independently yet collaboratively within a team
 Effective communication, interpersonal, facilitation and organizational skills
 A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity &amp; inclusion
 Familiarity with organizing and facilitating semistructured interviews
