Are you a physician interested in playing a leadership role in preventing workplace injury and disease in British Columbia? WorkSafeBC is seeking a Medical Advisor to join their team in the Medical Services department. In this role, you will work with adjudicative staff, occupational safety officers, and community physicians to assist injured workers in their recovery, rehabilitation, and safe return to work. Your responsibilities will include evaluating medical impairments, providing medical recommendations, collaborating with community physicians, and working in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate medical impairments and disabilities through review of electronic records and share opinions about cause, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis

Provide evidence-based medical recommendations to adjudicating officers

Collaborate with community physicians to ensure workers' rehabilitations and medical-management needs are met

Work in a case-management team environment with both medical and non-medical colleagues

Qualifications:

Eligible for full licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia

Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience

Interest in rehabilitation, mental health, or occupational medicine

Excellent communication skills

 A minimum of five years of experience in clinical practice including family medicine, sports medicine, or emergency medicine and an an interest in rehabilitation, mental health, or occupational medicine
