The Undergraduate Nursing Employee (UNE) position at Edson Healthcare Centre offers an opportunity for nursing students to apply their knowledge and skills towards becoming competent Registered Nurses (RNs) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs). Working under the supervision of an RN or RPN, the UNE provides patient-centered care as part of a collaborative healthcare team. The level of supervision and nursing activities performed are determined by various factors, including legislation, regulatory standards, AHS policies, educational background, and patient complexity.
Key Responsibilities:
Current enrollment in an approved Alberta nursing education program leading to initial entry to practice as an RN or RPN.
Possession of a current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (CPR) certificate.
Successful completion of the 3rd year of an RN nursing education program with a minimum of 600 hours of clinical practice; or in the final year of an after-degree RN nursing education program with 600 hours of clinical practice; or completion of the 2nd year of an RPN nursing education program with 600 hours of clinical practice.
Additional qualifications as required.
Qualifications:
