HEALTH CARE WORKER/Occasional Activity worker Duties (casual position)
Pay: CA$27.92 - CA$29.60 per hour
JOB SUMMARY:
The program mandate is to provide support, care, and assistance for male adults with mental health conditions in a community-based residential rehabilitative facility. Facilities are licensed by Vancouver Coastal Health.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Following individual client care plans and facility schedules
Administering medications
Following prescribed treatment plans
Meal preparation and service following meal plans
Housecleaning
Laundry
Documentation
Communication with Administrator, Facility Nurse, coworkers, resources
Health and safety of residents and facility in compliance with Policies, Procedures, and administrative directives
ACTIVITY WORKER TYPICAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in the development of activities by coordinating program schedules with clients, healthcare workers, Facility Nurse, Administrator, and professional resources
Accompanies clients in small groups or individual outings such as appointments, shopping, banking, recreational, and leisure activities
Schedules activities in the individual facilities encouraging group participation
Observes clients and their environments, reports unsafe conditions and behavioral, physical, and/or cognitive changes to Administrator and Healthcare Workers
Promotes client participation in activities and provides feedback to facility staff and Administrator regarding the performance and progress of clients
Receives client feedback, inquiries, and complaints, and responds as required
Planning, arranging, and setting up furnishings and equipment for clients' activities
Maintains an inventory of equipment, tools, and materials related to on-site activities
Completes and maintains related records and documentation such as statistics, progress reports, activity participation reports, observation reports, and client activity profiles
Refers clients to other programs/services and provides information regarding available resources as approved by Administrator
Maintains Recreational Funds and Records spending and budgeting in accordance with Administrative Directives and Facilities Policies and Procedures
Performs other related duties as assigned
Orientation shifts and full on-site training are paid.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be energetic, sociable, have written and verbal communication skills
HCW or HCA certification and BC CARE AIDE REGISTRATION - BC Care Aide Registry In Good Standing
ID: BCID or BC Driver's License, proof of Canadian citizenship or status
Current First Aid
Food Safe Level 1
English (required)
Criminal Record Checks will be required if you are a successful candidate and will be processed on-site
