Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Physical Therapist (Physiotherapist) to join the Arthritis Program in Cranbrook (BC), working as a Clinical Practice Leader. Apply today to join our team!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the clinical support of a physical therapy services section and provide physical therapy services to clients at the Cranbrook site of Mary Pack Arthritis to achieve quality client focused care
  • Coordinate daily physical therapy operations at the Cranbrook site by developing and implementing policies and procedures, under the direction of the Regional Manager, Clinical Programs
  • Develop and maintain treatment standards by planning, evaluating, and coordinating education, treatment activities and research according to established policies and procedures
  • Assess client's physical status, functional abilities, needs, and goals
  • Establish a physical therapy diagnosis and prognosis
  • Develop and implement an intervention strategy, evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention, and communicate with the client/family and health care team members
  • Contribute to the organization and delivery of physical therapy services
  • Participate in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or Rehabilitation Sciences, two (2) year's recent related experience and completion of a Health Care Management Certificate or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Current full registration as a Physiotherapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
  • Eligible for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC)
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to designated clinical area
  • Broad knowledge of physical therapy standardized tests and measures
  • Broad knowledge of physical therapy theory and practice within a client and family centred model of care
  • Broad knowledge of research process and methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team member
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and empower clients to assume control over their health
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients both one-on-one and in groups
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation
  • Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in a complex health care environment
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize when referral to another health care professional is required
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Skilled in the use of equipment, and in the techniques appropriate for physical therapy treatment
  • Basic computer literacy
