Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular part-time Donor Centre Nurse to join the Collections team in Vaughan, ON. The role involves collecting blood and blood products safely, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and providing a positive donor experience. Responsibilities include conducting registration, educating donors, performing venipuncture, maintaining records, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver an exceptional donor experience through communication and client service skills.
Educate and empower donors on blood donations and support Canada's Lifeline.
Provide coaching and consultation to donor centre staff.
Perform venipuncture according to standards and provide post-donation care.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance across systems.
Share knowledge and support best practices for process improvement.
Desired education and skills:
Completion of an accredited nursing program and current RN license.
2 years of nursing experience, First Aid and CPR certification.
Experience as a preceptor or coaching others is an asset.
Technical skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Ability to communicate in multiple languages is an asset.
