Halton Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their team and provide quality, compassionate healthcare services to their communities. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patients, administering medications and treatments, educating patients and families on health topics, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to plan and evaluate patient care.
Halton Healthcare is looking for a candidate who is organized, able to work in a team environment, caring, compassionate, and patient-centered. The ideal candidate will have current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, BCLS Certification, recent surgical experience, and an ACLS certification. They must also have sound knowledge of nursing process, theory, and responsibilities to the profession, as well as problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment of patients to establish priorities and create a plan of care
Administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician
Educating patients/families about specific surgical procedures and required care
Instructing patients and families on health education and promotion
Collaborating with interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care
Qualifications:
Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Current BCLS Certification
Recent surgical experience
Critical Care Certificate an asset
ACLS certification an asset
Organized and ability to work in a team environment
Caring, compassionate, and patient- and family-centered
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
Sound knowledge of nursing process, theory, and responsibilities
Sound problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
Functions independently within scope of practice
Maximizes utilization of resources
Evidence of continuing education/learning
Aware of multicultural issues affecting health care needs
Basic computer skills- Order Entry module of Meditech required
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
