Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership for designated home areas ensuring care is delivered according to Ministry of Long Term Care standards.
Supervise staff, communicate effectively with residents and families, and provide excellent customer service.
Participate in skin and wound care programs, complete individualized care plans, and administer medication as needed.
Assist in Quality Improvement and Risk Management activities, perform administrative duties, and act as the Charge Nurse when needed.
Contribute to physician rounds, facilitate Resident Care Conferences, and advocate for residents.
Recommend changes to nursing practice, care policies, and procedures as necessary.
Assist with performance appraisals and provide input on new staff orientation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Understanding of Residents' Bill of Rights and Compliance Standards.
Preferred: Two years' experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing.
Preferred: Demonstrated computer ability and experience using Point of Care (POC), Point Click Care (PCC), and eMAR.
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work shifts and a minimum of two shifts plus one weekend per month.
Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with resident care.
Employment Conditions:
Current Criminal Records Check and tuberculosis test required by the first day of employment.
