We are currently looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist to join our team in Vancouver, BC, with a schedule split between Braddan Private Hospital and Point Grey Private Hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide physiotherapy services to help clients achieve optimal health outcomes and independence.
Conduct regular assessments on residents' physical status, mobility, and goals.
Participate in in-service training and continuing education.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and physiotherapy service delivery.
Support assessment, plans, and evaluation of walking programs for residents.
Collaborate with the Recreation team to promote mobility and activation through activities.
Qualifications:
Full registration and membership with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia.
Two (2) to five (5) years of clinical experience.
Passionate about dementia and elder care.
Belief in continuing education for professional development.
Ability to work well in a team and support person-centered care.
Skills and Abilities:
Respectful and maintain the dignity of residents.
Commitment to excellence in care for older adults.
Understanding and experience in working with residents with dementia.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective time management skills.
Physically and mentally capable of performing job duties.
Professional, caring, and considerate attitude towards residents, visitors, and staff.
