Description:

Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join their team in providing exceptional care for victims of sexual assault and intimate partner violence. The RN will deliver safe, effective, patient-centered care and act as a resource for the care team. This position offers the unique opportunity to work in an advanced field of forensic nursing.

As an RN at CCH, responsibilities include providing emergency health/psychological and forensic care, follow-up healthcare to patients, leadership and training to the nursing team, and outreach to the community. The RN will work in the Emergency Department, responding to ASAP patients as a priority and assisting in ED during surges if needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, effective, patient-centered care
  • Provide emergency health/psychological and forensic care
  • Provide follow-up healthcare to patients
  • Provide leadership and training to the nursing team
  • Assist in policy and medical directive development
  • Provide outreach to the community
  • Qualifications:

  • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Completion of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training
  • 3 years' experience in a sexual assault domestic violence program
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and public relations skills
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Functional level in both official languages (English and French)
