Description:

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Health Care Social Worker to join their team at The Bridge in Dartmouth. The role involves providing interventions to clients and families, including psychosocial assessments, therapy, crisis counseling, and discharge planning. Social Workers also engage in advocacy, education, and collaboration within interdisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Social Work, be registered or eligible for registration with the NSCSW, have at least two years of clinical experience, and possess knowledge of human behavior, community resources, and agencies. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide therapy
  • Offer crisis counseling and discharge planning
  • Advocate for clients and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate students
  • Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the NSCSW
  • Two years of clinical experience
  • Knowledge of human behavior and community resources
  • Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License and access to a reliable automobile
  • Competencies in other languages, French preferred
  • The position is full-time, with 75 hours biweekly, and offers a competitive hourly rate.
