Are you a mental health professional looking to make a difference in the lives of injured workers? WorkSafeBC is seeking a Mental Health Specialist to provide supportive interventions and services to individuals experiencing psychological distress. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify and respond to risk situations, supporting injured workers and their families during times of distress, and working with community mental health resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review suicide risk reports, assess, and prepare Mental Health Service Plans
  • Communicate appellate body claims decisions to vulnerable workers
  • Share expertise with colleagues to manage mental health issues effectively
  • Build partnerships with clients, families, and stakeholders
  • Deliver presentations on suicide risk identification and response
  • Qualifications:

  • Understanding of mental health issues related to depression, chronic pain, and suicidality
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals
  • Master's degree in a related field or bachelor's degree with relevant experience
  • Registration or eligibility with a professional college or regulatory body
  • Valid B.C. driver's license
