Are you a mental health professional experienced in supporting individuals in psychological distress? We are seeking a Mental Health Specialist to provide interventions to injured workers during their recovery and return to work. You will collaborate with WorkSafeBC clients, internal staff, and external stakeholders to identify and respond to risk situations. Your role will involve offering support to injured workers and their families during periods of distress, working with community mental health resources, and serving as a resource to claims management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and review WorkSafeBC suicide risk reports, investigate, assess, and prepare a Mental Health Service Plan
Support vulnerable workers and communicate appellate body claims decisions
Share expertise with colleagues to manage mental health issues effectively
Build partnerships with clients and stakeholders to establish positive relationships
Deliver presentations on suicide risk identification and response
Qualifications:
Demonstrate understanding of mental health issues related to depression, chronic pain, and suicidality
Facilitate understanding, resolve conflict, and provide support to clients
Prepare and present information to individuals from diverse backgrounds
Work collaboratively in a team setting to guide clients towards treatment goals
Background and Experience:
Master's degree in social sciences, social work, psychology, or related field
Four years of relevant experience with a master's degree, or six years with a bachelor's degree
Registration or eligibility to register with a professional college or regulatory body
Valid B.C. driver's license
