This job posting is for a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Cornwall Community Hospital in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and performing Abd/Gyn studies, small part examinations, and maintaining high-quality images.

Reporting to the Manager, Diagnostic Services, the sonographer will also be responsible for various technical aspects of equipment operation, calibration, and testing. The candidate must have current registration with CMRTO and Sonography Canada, as well as certifications in abdomen/pelvis, obstetrical, and experience in Vascular studies.

Key Responsibilities:

Organize and perform Abd/Gyn studies, small part examinations

Maintain and document high-quality images

Practice good patient care

Operate, calibrate, and test equipment

Demonstrate effective communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team environment

Meet physical demands of the position

Respect and maintain confidentiality

Maintain regular/punctual attendance

Commit to patient safety

Functional level in both official languages (English and French)

Qualifications:

Current registration with CMRTO and Sonography Canada

Certifications in abdomen/pelvis, obstetrical, and Vascular studies

Recent Relevant Experience

Excellent computer skills

Current certification in BCLS

 Current registration with Sonography Canada
 Certified in abdomen/pelvis and obstetrical
 Experience in Vascular studies
 Recent Relevant Experience
 Excellent computer skills and good working knowledge of HIS, Ris, and PACS
 Demonstrated effective communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills
 Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment
 Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well with multiple interruptions
 Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment
 Must meet physical demands of position including lifting over 60 lbs. and withstand constant standing and/or walking
 Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
 Current certification in BCLS
 Demonstrated regular/punctual attendance
 Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
 Functional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French)  and testing completed
