As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, you will work closely with the Unit Manager to provide patient care during catheterization procedures and other cardiac lab activities. This role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, including assisting physicians, monitoring patient status, and administering medications. Strong communication skills and experience in critical care are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide patient care and assist physicians during catheterization procedures
Monitor and report cardiovascular and hemodynamic status
Administer medications and maintain hemostasis
Offer patient teaching and reassurance throughout procedures
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and provide patient handover
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program
Active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
Minimum 3 years recent experience in adult Critical Care or Trauma Emergency
Current ACLS certification and strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics
Physical requirements include being on feet for extended periods and assisting with patient movement
Preferred qualifications include Catheterization Lab experience and hemodynamic training
