As a Resident Assistant in the Nursing and Personal Care Services at the Seniors' Health Centre, your role is to assist nursing personnel in providing personal care to residents and performing procedures and treatments as instructed. This position contributes to advancing care through teaching, learning, research, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties in accordance with legislation, the Mission Statement, Organizational Philosophy, and Administrative policies and procedures of the Seniors' Health Centre
  • Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Practical Nurse to provide personal care to residents
  • Communicate effectively with elderly individuals and colleagues
  • Cooperate as a member of a healthcare team
  • Have an interest in and the ability to work with the elderly
  • Qualifications:

  • Completed Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from a College of Applied Arts and Technology
  • Registered and in good standing with The Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA)
  • Long term care experience, preferred
  • Skilled in Point of Care (POC), preferred
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset
