We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our dynamic 38-bed unit focused on post-op recovery and rehabilitation after Cardiac Surgery. The RN will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide excellent and seamless cardiac patient care to a complex and acute patient population. The RN will also play a key role in providing team direction, clinical leadership, and advocacy for patients.

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while ensuring their safety and well-being. You will utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families. You will support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour, with a rate adjustment upon obtaining a full license. This position is classified as a Registered Nurse (2022.75) and is part of the United Nurses of Alberta union.

Minimum of 6 months recent experience on Cardiac Surgery

Successful completion of the Cardiac Surgery Unit Specific program

Hold active clinical competencies for various procedures

Ability to perform patient handling and mobilization up to a 50lb level

Active participant in patient resuscitation and CPR

Additional Required Qualifications:The successful candidate should also demonstrate proficient communication, assessment and critical thinking skills, and have the ability to prioritize and time management appropriately. The successful candidate will accept responsibility for maintaining unit clinical competencies through ongoing professional development, participation in unit training classes &amp; annual recertification and participate in unit quality improvement activities. Must have a minimum of 6 months recent experience on Cardiac Surgery. Successful completion of the Cardiac Surgery Unit Specific program. Hold active clinical competencies for Telemetry, Epicardial Pacing Wire removal, Inotrope therapy, Administration of IV Cytotoxic therapy, Regional Nerve Block, Transplant Care, Management of Epidural Analgesia Infusions, and hold active certification for Ventricular Assist Device certification. Must be able to perform patient handling and mobilization up to a 50lb level and be an active participant in performing patient resuscitation and CPR. Preferred Qualifications:As required.
