Rimbey Long Term Care is seeking a Health Care Aide to work in a rural setting under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in providing care to elderly clients, including those with Alzheimer's Disease or dementia. Rimbey offers a small town lifestyle with access to major cities like Red Deer, Calgary, and Edmonton.

As a Health Care Aide, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide personal assistance, support activities of daily living, and assist patients according to care plans and facility policies. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers in various care settings, ensuring patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs are met.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, effective communication with patients and health professionals, assisting with organized activities, and observing and reporting on patients' well-being. This position requires a good work ethic, patience, teamwork skills, experience with dementia care, MAP training, computer skills, and knowledge of safe lifting and transferring practices.

Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory

Nursing students enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program with 100 hours of practicum completed

Good work ethic, patience, and ability to work in a team environment

Experience with dementia and Alzheimer care, MAP training, and computer skills

Knowledge of safe lifting and transferring practices

Preferred qualifications include Connect Care Training and experience in a Continuing Care Facility Living Health Care Aide ILT. The position is located at Rimbey Hospital & Care Centre with a Regular Part-Time schedule and a salary range of $22.93 to $27.87 per hour.
