March of Dimes Canada is seeking a part-time Personal Support Worker (PSW) in the Niagara Region. As a member of our Community Support Services team, you will assist clients in their homes to live independently. The position offers evening shifts from Monday to Friday, with a starting wage of $22.81 per hour, including a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government.

Responsibilities:

Assist clients with non-medical activities of daily living

Perform personal care, lifts, transfers, meal preparation, and light housekeeping

Maintain professionalism and respect for client privacy and safety

Qualifications and experience:

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

High School graduate or equivalent

Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification

Experience working with individuals with disabilities or older adults is an asset

Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work flexible hours

Schedule: Monday to Friday Evenings Only (3:00pm  12:00am)
 Starting wage: $22.81 per hour . This compensation is inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients. The wage enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave.
 Hours: Various hours per week

Responsibilities:

Assist service users/clients in their own homes with nonmedical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:

Personal care
 Lifts and Transfers
 Rising/retiring
 Bowel and bladder procedures
 Meal preparation and feeding
 Range of motion exercises
 Other light housekeeping duties
 Perform duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains consumer and staff health and safety.

Qualifications and experience:

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
 High School graduate or equivalent
 Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
 Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver considered an asset but not required
 Good interpersonal, communication, and problemsolving skills
 Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care
