Are you a mental health professional experienced in supporting individuals in psychological distress? We are seeking a Mental Health Specialist to provide interventions to injured workers during their recovery and return to work. This temporary 18-month role involves collaborating with clients, internal staff, and external stakeholders to identify and address risk situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and review suicide risk reports, assess, and create a Mental Health Service Plan
Support vulnerable workers, including those at risk for suicide, and communicate claims decisions
Share expertise with colleagues and claims management staff on managing mental health issues
Communicate WorkSafeBC's suicide risk management mandate to stakeholders
Build partnerships with at-risk clients, families, and stakeholders
Deliver presentations on suicide risk identification and response
Qualifications:
Understanding of mental health issues related to depression, chronic pain, and suicidality
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and resolve conflicts
Experience in crisis intervention and mental health support
Master's degree in social sciences or related field, with relevant experience
Registration or eligibility with a professional regulatory body
Valid B.C. driver's license
