IWK Health is seeking a Clinical Therapist to join the Family Intensive Outreach Services program in Halifax. The successful candidate will work with an interprofessional team to provide mental health and addiction treatment to children and youth up to 19 years of age. Responsibilities include individual and family therapy, group interventions, clinical supervision, and capacity-building initiatives.

Reporting to a Manager in the Mental Health and Addictions program, the Clinical Therapist will collaborate with various healthcare professionals to deliver culturally relevant and evidence-informed treatment. The position involves working in ambulatory clinics, outreach services, day treatment services, and community-based settings, in alignment with the mission of the IWK Health Centre.

Family Intensive Outreach Services (FIOS) is a community-based outreach program that focuses on providing intensive treatment to clients and caregivers experiencing disruptive behavior challenges. The Clinical Therapist will be responsible for delivering evidence-based assessments, case formulation, and family-based treatment within this program.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in a clinical health-related discipline, current professional registration or eligibility for registration, and a minimum of two years of experience in child and youth mental health. Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and knowledge of the Choice and Partnership approach (CAPA) are essential qualifications for this role.

The clinical therapist will work with healthcare professionals including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, InHome Support Youth Care Workers, Community Navigators, Recreation Therapists, Teachers and Psychiatrists. The clinical therapist will work with children, youth and families, utilizing a culturally relevant and evidenced informed treatment to deliver mental health and addictions treatment to children and youth up to 19 years of age in an ambulatory clinic, outreach services, day treatment services or a communitybased settings. This is done in accordance with the mission, philosophies and vision of the IWK Health Centre. Responsibilities include clinical work with children, youth and their families specific to their mental health and addiction needs, within a Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA). The clinical therapist will have a scope of practice that includes individual and family therapy, as well as delivery of evidencebased group interventions. Teaching and clinical supervision of students, capacitybuilding initiatives and supervision of inhome support workers and community navigators are additional responsibilities for this position.Family Intensive Outreach Services (FIOS  FIOS is a communitybased outreach service that provides intensive outreach treatment to clients and their caregivers who are experiencing challenges with disruptive behaviour, whereby the team meets with caregivers in their home or community. A cotherapy team of allied healthcare professionals together with a supervisor is involved in working with the family for an 8month period, with care being modeled in Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT). FIOS provides the family with multiple intensive highly focused sessions each week with the child, caregivers and family. The interventions to help the child flow through the caregivers and the team works to empower the caregivers as primary agents for change. The Clinical Therapist is member of an interprofessional team and responsible for the delivery of evidencebased assessments, case formulation and planning, familybased treatment. The Clinical Therapist carries out the general duties of a mental health and addictions clinician but in addition to those duties, oversees the clinical care plan and staff implementing interventions. Clinical services are provided to the family in their homes or another location convenient to them, requiring the incumbent to travel regularly within Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM).Hours of Work Monday to Friday; 8:30am  4:30pm (37.5 hours per week).
