Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a Registered Nurse for Reachview Village Long Term Care in Uxbridge, ON. The role is casual with a starting salary of $36.06. The Registered Nurse will report to the Director of Care and be responsible for maintaining nursing standards in accordance with regulations and company standards. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including day, evening, and night shifts with occasional extended hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure resident care meets established standards and policies, observe and record vital signs and conditions, and implement nursing techniques.
Assess residents, develop care plans, monitor health changes, and implement physicians' orders.
Supervise nursing and personal care staff, train new personnel, and conduct performance appraisals.
Prepare the Facility for RAI MDS assessments and take charge in the absence of the Director of Care.
Provide staff replacement in the absence of the care clerk.
Knowledge And Skills Required:
Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Registration or eligibility for registration with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
Previous managerial experience in long-term care preferred.
Experience working with cognitively impaired individuals.
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and infection control.
Commitment to working with seniors and effective communication skills.
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
Clear vulnerable sector check and recent TB skin test required.
