MOSAIC is seeking motivated Program Support Workers to join the MOSAIC Engage Language team. The organization operates on traditional Coast Salish Territories and is dedicated to supporting newcomers in building new lives in Canada. Under the direction of the Manager, the Program Support Worker will provide administrative and student services support for MOSAIC Engage English Classes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide administrative support for reports, client/student records, and forms. Maintain confidentiality.

Offer general orientation to facilities for clients/students/community partners/stakeholders.

Document client activities, collect data for reports, and produce statistics for funders.

Develop knowledge of MOSAIC programs to support clients.

Create a welcoming environment and build relationships with clients.

Write informative content for blogs and social media.

Minimum Qualifications:

Office Management/Business Administration diploma/certificates or relevant experience.

One year of related experience.

Criminal record check required.

Physical ability to stand and take attendance.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to speak various languages is an asset.

Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize and multitask.

Experience working with immigrant populations and diverse cultural backgrounds.

Compensation: $24.82 - $26.78 per hour

Hours: Part-time/Casual, 8 hours per week on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:15 PM-9:15 PM.

POSITION FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the Manager, the Program Support Worker, provides administrative and student services support for the MOSAIC Engage English Classes.

 Provide general orientation to the facilities for clients/students/community partners/stakeholders both in person and over the phone.
 May document client activities in database(s), or document and collect data to produce contractual reports or statistics for funders.
 Develop a thorough knowledge of MOSAIC programs and departments in order to support clients with a range of needs
 Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment by supporting and building relationships with clients
 Write informative, topical, and interesting content for blogs and social media

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Office Management/Business Administration diploma/certificates and/or appropriate combination of experience and training.
 One year minimum of related experience.
 Criminal record check required.
 Physical requirements: candidate must be able to stand in lobby and let students in while taking attendance

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Good computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and standard office equipment.  
 Excellent Customer service skills.
 Good verbal and written communication skills.
 The ability to speak Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Ukrainian, Russian, or Turkish will be considered an asset.  
 Efficient organizational abilities: able to set priorities and meet deadlines; able to multitask.
 Able to work independently and with a team.
 Must possess sound judgement and initiative.
 Experience and sensitivity to and understanding of the needs of immigrant populations and people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

COMPENSATION: $24.82  $26.78 per hour

HOURS:

Parttime/ Casual, 8 hours per week Monday and Thursday 5:15 PM9:15 PM

This role is 8 hours per week while classes are in session. Classes run in 6week blocks and are followed by 1 week off.

The successful candidate must be able to commute to the Surrey Language Centre (2007134 King George Blvd. Surrey, British Columbia V3W 5A3).
