They are currently seeking a Health Assurance Veterinarian for Eastern Canada, responsible for implementing and communicating the PIC Health Assurance Program to ensure the health of production farms and improve the health of PIC herds.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with teams. The position is based in Eastern Canada with approximately 35% travel required. The starting salary is $125,000 CAD.

Qualifications:

PIC Canada, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a highly motivated Health Assurance Veterinarian (Eastern Canada  Ontario/Quebec) to join our team.  
The Health Assurance Veterinarian is responsible for the implementation and communication of the PIC Health Assurance Program, including overseeing the health monitoring program, protecting the health status of production farms through oversight of biosecurity and health risk management, and improving the health of PIC herds through disease elimination programs, which enables successful delivery and utilization of superior healthy genetics to customers. The successful candidate has the ability to work and maintain performance expectations in a culturally diverse, fastpaced environment, possesses strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and can work both autonomously and collaborate across teams and functional areas.

The preferred location for this position is in Eastern Canada (Ontario / Quebec). Travel approximately 35%, domestic and occasionally international.  
The salary for this position starts at $125,000 CAD. The amount provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Tâches et responsabilités essentielles:

Work with local Health Team Veterinarian to implement the Health Assurance Program that protects PIC supply chain and our customers' herds:
 Monitor the health and surveillance program for specific PIC's owned and contract multiplication flows.
 Perform risk assessments of the PIC multiplication flows and support risk mitigation strategy implementation.
 Provide health status information concerning product sources to customers in a timely manner.
 Develop and execute herd health improvement and health cleanup projects.
 Support PIC supply chain farms, including participation in account team projects and initiatives.
 Work with PIC account and service teams as well as customers to assure successful animal health strategies for animal introduction and utilization.
 Support research that advances Herd Health and Biosecurity by leading Health Assurance projects.
 Advance industry herd health through presentation of research results, participation in industry events and professional committees, and networking with producers, veterinarians, researchers, and government contacts.

Prérequis:

Bas ic Qualifications: (required)

Degree of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited veterinary college.
 Ability to be licensed and accredited in relevant Canadian provinces.
 A minimum of 2 years of experience in swine medicine and production, including demonstrated competence in evaluating pig production systems and developing intervention strategies to improve herd health.
 A minimum of 2 years of experience working with all levels of production systems (owners, senior managers, production managers, technicians, nutritionists, veterinarians).
 Demonstrated experience analyzing technical information, including technical writing and presentation skills, to effectively communicate in an organized and concise manner.
 Experience with Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications, including information technology tools for analysis and communication of health and production related data.
 Must not cohabitat or live on the same premises with any person who works with swine and/or with people that are in routine contact with swine.
 Authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship
