Description:

Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC) is seeking a Clinical Applications Support Specialist for a temporary position in Nova Scotia. The role involves working closely with stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to patient care reports and clinical applications. The successful candidate will manage user accounts, coordinate ePCR reconciliation, and provide education and support to staff on ePCR processes. Additionally, the role includes promoting privacy and confidentiality of patient information and providing coverage for Health Records Administrator duties as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot clinical application issues
  • Manages user accounts for clinical applications and conducts audits
  • Coordinates ePCR reconciliation process and ensures timely completion of reports
  • Provides education and support to staff on ePCR processes
  • Promotes privacy and confidentiality of patient information
  • May perform other duties as required
  • Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in healthcare or business related field
  • Two years of related experience
  • Experience in a healthcare setting considered an asset
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Physical Requirements:

    The employee will spend various periods of sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and/or carrying light objects. Required to maintain one position for possible long periods, such as sitting in meetings, or at a desk setting. Employee will be reading data or inputting data, report writing, operating a word processor, computer, and talking on the telephone as well as will be exposed to multiple emails. Use and exposure to general office equipment such as fax, photocopier, printer, and personal computer with multiple monitor screens. Exposure to low to moderate noise levels.
