Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Radiological Technologist (Radiographer) to work in various locations throughout Vancouver, Richmond, North Shore, and Rural sites. The position is available as Regular Full Time, Part Time, or Casual, with a salary range of CAD $36.69/Hr. - CAD $45.81/Hr. The successful candidate will work in a computerized environment, producing diagnostic radiographs and conducting various diagnostic procedures, either independently or in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Relocation assistance of up to $5,000 may be available for those relocating to the west coast of Canada in beautiful British Columbia. Key Responsibilities:

Produce diagnostic radiographs and conduct various diagnostic procedures

Apply best practice radiation safety principles

Monitor patients during procedures and maintain cleanliness of examination rooms

Participate in committees/teams and approved research projects to maintain clinical competence

Qualifications:

Successful completion of a recognized Medical Radiography program

Certification in Radiological Technology and/or membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists

Broad knowledge of radiological technology theory and practices

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team

Physical ability to perform the duties of the position

As a Radiological Technologist with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will:

Work in a computerized environment, produce diagnostic radiographs and conducts various diagnostic procedures, either independently or in collaboration with the Radiologist and/or other physician(s).
 Apply best practice radiation safety principles to protect patients, staff and the general public and complete required documentation and administrative tasks.
 Monitor the patient during the procedures including equipment performance and maintain cleanliness of examination room.
 Maintain and advance own clinical competence by participating on committees/teams and approved research projects, as assigned.

Qualifications

Education &amp; Experience

Successful completion of a recognized Medical Radiography program.
 Successful completion of the CAMRT certification exam in Radiological Technology and/or certified with The Order of Technologists in Medical Imaging, RadioOncology and Medical Electrophysiology of Quebec (OTIMROEPMQ) in Radiodiagnosis.
 Eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.

Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities

Broad knowledge of applicable CAMRT standards of practice and clinical practice guidelines.
 Broad knowledge of radiological technology theory and practices within a patient/family centred model of care. Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment.
 Demonstrated ability to perform radiographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards. Demonstrated knowledge of evidencebased practice related to the designated modality.
 Demonstrated ability to use clinical practice documents organization policies, procedures and standards of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment.
 Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques
 Demonstrated knowledge of evidencebased practice related to designated modality. Basic knowledge of research process and methodology.
 Demonstrated knowledge of PACS, Radiology Information Systems and electronic health records (i.e. digital imaging, image archiving and retrieval.
 Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and effectively deal with patients and their families, coworkers, physicians, other health care staff and staff of external agencies.
 Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to deal with and/or guide others in resolution of conflict issues.
