South Health Campus (SHC) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care/Critical Care unit. This role offers the chance to showcase specialized skills in a modern facility with a strong team dynamic. The SHC provides inpatient, outpatient, and wellness services, emphasizing Collaborative Practice, Wellness, Patient and Family Centred Care, and Innovation. The ICU/CCU RN will act as a primary caregiver, trained in advanced certifications and delivering holistic care to patients and families. Effective communication is essential in this fast-paced environment, along with leadership in nursing assessments and care planning.
As an RN, you will provide nursing services, ensure patient safety, and promote well-being through critical thinking and advocacy. You will play a leadership role in patient care, health promotion, and maintenance, reflecting shared values. Provisional Permit holders will receive a specific hourly rate until obtaining a full practice permit.
- Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- Additional Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience within the last 4 years.
- Demonstrated strong assessment skills and care of mechanically ventilated patients.
- Experience with patients requiring vasoactive or inotropic intravenous medications.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Nursing.
- Advance Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS).
- Completion of a certified critical care certification program in advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) certification.
- Code Blue and/or Outreach Team certification.
