Description:

Assisted Living Alberta is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Home and Community Care (HCC) team to provide professional support services in clients' homes. The OT will administer assessments and implement interventions in various clinical areas to support clients in achieving optimal functional abilities and independence. The role involves collaborating with clients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation using OT models and theories.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide evidence-informed services focusing on occupational performance to meet the needs of individuals, groups, or communities. You will engage with clients to enable meaningful occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure. The role also includes comprehensive services such as triage, assessment, treatment, prevention, education, and collaboration with stakeholders within the client's physical, cultural, and social environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-informed services focusing on occupational performance
  • Engage with clients to enable meaningful occupations
  • Collaborate with clients and families in determining, implementing, and evaluating rehabilitation
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
  • Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS HCP)
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional clinical care within a changing healthcare environment
  • Communication and assessment skills to work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently in various home settings and environments
  • Demonstrated computer knowledge and proficiency
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Continuing Care experience
  • Palliative care experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
