As a Respiratory Therapist I at Leduc Community Hospital, you will assess patients, develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans, and monitor their progress. You will work with various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions, collaborating with clinical teams to enhance outcomes. Additionally, you will provide training to healthcare providers on respiratory equipment use, educate patients and families on diseases, medications, and treatments, and ensure safe and effective care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess patients and develop respiratory therapy care plans
Monitor patient progress and provide diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
Collaborate with clinical teams to enhance outcomes
Provide training and education to healthcare providers and patients
Required Qualifications:
Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA)
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of adult critical care or emergency experience within the last five (5) years
Graduation from a recognized Respiratory Therapy Program
Successful completion of the National Respiratory Certification Exam
Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)
Preferred Qualifications:
Arterial Line insertion certification
Intubation Certification
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Course (NRP)
Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) or enrollment in required courses
Previous experience in medicine, surgery, OR, and/or pediatrics
Experience with quality assurance initiatives within a department
