Description:

The Lois Hole Hospital for Women at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide expert care to women of all ages and stages of life. The successful candidate will handle obstetrical emergencies and care for high-risk women with pregnancy complications. The primary position responsibility is in Antepartum, with the expectation to provide cross-coverage to the Assessment/Induction Room and Labour and Delivery.

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, while teaching, counseling, and advocating for patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care and health promotion. The hourly rate for Provisional Permit holders is $40.76 to $55.79, which will be adjusted upon obtaining a full practice permit.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program

Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification

Additional Required Qualifications:

CPR (BCLS) through Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation

Advanced educational studies in obstetrics, including fetal monitoring

Successful completion of a medication exam at the time of the interview

Preferred Qualifications:

Certificate in newborn resuscitation (NRP)

Current IV certification, Central Line skills, blood draws, OBIX certification, Connect Care experience, and Fetal Health Surveillance
