Description:

**CancerCare Manitoba** is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant to support the Manitoba Tumour Bank and the Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute. The ideal candidate will be responsible for screening and recruiting project participants, assisting with study appointments, obtaining informed consent, and collecting biospecimens from patients. This role requires adherence to research protocols, administrative tasks, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Screening and recruiting new project participants

Assisting with organization and scheduling of study appointments

Obtaining informed consent from eligible participants

Assisting in the collection of biospecimens from patients

Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in a health-related field

OR a diploma in a health-related field with a minimum of 3 years of research experience

Skills And Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

Strong time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and safeguard confidentiality

Professional and ethical behaviour in the workplace

Other:

Must have a satisfactory employment record

Must be legally able to work in Canada

Preferred:

Experience in a health-care environment

Project Management experience

Experience in a research-related healthcare setting

Experience working with databases

Ability to speak French

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Job Summary The Clinical Research Assistant will support the Manitoba Tumour Bank and the Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute at CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB).

The Clinical Research Assistant Will Primarily Be Responsible For

Screening and recruiting new project participants
 Assisting with organization and scheduling of study appointments
 Obtaining informed consent from eligible participants
 Assisting in the collection of biospecimens from patients

This position will actively ensure adherence to research protocols, procedures, reporting requirements and/or facility regulations are being followed. The Clinical Research Assistant will also be assist with research project administrative activities.

Qualifications Required Level of Formal Education &amp; Experience

Undergraduate degree in a healthrelated field

or

A diploma in a healthrelated field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a research environment.

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills And Abilities

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
 Ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
 Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
 Strong time management skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, flexibility, initiative and independent decisionmaking skills.
