The Respiratory Therapist I position at Red Deer Regional Hospital involves providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and educational respiratory health services to patients as directed by physicians or treatment protocols. Responsibilities include assessing patients, developing care plans, monitoring progress, managing equipment, collaborating with clinical teams, and educating patients and families on respiratory health.
**Required Qualifications:**
- Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA).
**Additional Required Qualifications:**
- Graduation from a recognized school of Respiratory Therapy.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist in good standing with CARTA.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) and NRP certification.
- Minimum one year acute care experience in ICU, ED, NICU, or wards.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle competing priorities, and communicate effectively in English.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Meditech.
