Support Workers are needed for live-in positions working 24-hour shifts, with one shift per week and the possibility of more. The pay rate for shifts is between $440.00 to $500.00 for 24 hours, with sleeping accommodations provided in a private residence. Each staff member has their own bedroom for sleeping, and shifts run from 12 pm to 12 pm the next day.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting young adults in therapeutic residential programs
Supporting young adults in attending court, academic/day programming, home visits, and day-to-day functions
Building trusting relationships with young adults
Participating in a professional treatment team approach
Recording behavior in a meaningful way
Qualifications:
Experience working with adults with special needs and behavior difficulties
Effective social skills to be a positive role model
Familiarity with Child & Youth residential programming and assessment skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of power, privilege, and social location
Ability to relate to Indigenous young adults and understand their issues
Education and Background:
Completed education (diploma) in the field
