BC Hydro is seeking a Junior Engineer to provide support to the Transmission Sustainment Planning Specialist Engineer in meeting key deliverables associated with FAC-008 Facility Ratings and FERC Order 881. The successful candidate will perform engineering calculations, data review, technical documentation, and asset data quality activities under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Support project-related facility rating requests
Assist with annual review of transmission facility ratings
Update facility rating information
Support Transmission System Operations and Planning
Assist with preparation of FAC-008 Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets
Support updates to engineering standards and technical documentation
Assist with asset data quality activities
Perform engineering calculations and technical checks
Maintain accurate engineering records
Provide general engineering and technical support
Qualifications
University degree in Engineering or Applied Science
Entry-level to 1 year of relevant engineering experience
Registered as an Engineer-in-Training or Geoscientist-in-Training
Familiarity with electrical utility, power systems, or engineering data
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD systems
