Description:

As an Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of community-based services to individuals with chronic addiction and/or severe and persistent mental illness. Your responsibilities will include supporting clients in daily living activities, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will collaborate with other health and service providers under the direction of a regulated health provider.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate structured group programming and provide observations on client engagement and progress
  • Support the implementation of recovery-focused interventions in collaboration with therapists and healthcare professionals
  • Work with individuals with mental health and addiction concerns in a community or rehabilitation setting
  • Build rapport, foster client engagement, and support recovery-oriented goals
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills, including electronic documentation systems
  • Qualifications:

  • Completion of a diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent
  • Experience facilitating structured group programming and contributing observations in an interdisciplinary care environment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with mental health and addiction concerns
  • Ability to build rapport, foster client engagement, and support recovery-oriented goals
  • Experience working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Knowledge of recovery-oriented practice, trauma-informed care, and person-centered approaches
