Description:

An Addiction and Mental Health Worker position is available at the Crisis Centre First Contact in London, ON. The role involves providing short-term support for individuals in crisis, ensuring safety, empowerment, and crisis resolution. The successful candidate will work 70 hours bi-weekly, including evenings, nights, and weekends, with a starting rate of $27.14 per hour. Benefits include 9% in lieu of benefits and optional enrollment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan.

Responsibilities include responding to referrals, conducting assessments, providing interventions, establishing therapeutic relationships, coordinating services, advocating for clients, and providing health teaching. Reception duties involve greeting visitors, answering calls, and maintaining a welcoming environment. Reach Out responsibilities include providing crisis intervention services via phone, text, and web chat.

Qualifications required include post-secondary education in a relevant field, regular attendance, and a clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check. Preferred qualifications include crisis intervention training, knowledge of community resources, and experience in mental health crisis intervention. Bilingualism is an asset.
