The Cardiac Diagnostics department within RGH is currently recruiting a casual, Cardiology Technologist I. Reporting to the Unit Manager of Cardiac Diagnostics and Clinics, the Cardiology Technologist is responsible for the performance of various cardiac tests, understanding and recognizing the pathophysiology associated with these test results, and processing the resulting data.Description: As a Cardiology Technologist I, you will prepare the patients (clients, residents) for noninvasive cardiac testing to investigate cardiac abnormalities and level of function, including Holter Monitoring, Exercise Tolerance Testing and Ambulatory Monitoring. You will explain procedures and educate patients on equipment function as required as well as collect client history for procedures and document information for physicians. You will analyze and summarize test results, and generate reports for physician interpretation. You will provide expertise in the setup, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and will be required to implement resuscitation measures when necessary. You will precept, orient new staff and students and provide input into the evaluation of cardiology trainees and/or students. You will also serve as a clinical resource by providing information regarding cardiology technology to staff and patients.
