As a Cardiology Technologist I, you will prepare patients for non-invasive cardiac testing, such as Holter Monitoring and Exercise Tolerance Testing. You will explain procedures, collect client history, and analyze test results. Additionally, you will provide expertise in equipment set-up, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as implement resuscitation measures when necessary. You will also precept new staff, orient students, and serve as a clinical resource for cardiology technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for non-invasive cardiac testing
Explain procedures and educate patients on equipment function
Collect client history for procedures and document information for physicians
Analyze and summarize test results, and generate reports for physician interpretation
Provide expertise in equipment set-up, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Implement resuscitation measures when necessary
Precept new staff, orient students, and provide input into the evaluation of cardiology trainees
Serve as a clinical resource by providing information regarding cardiology technology to staff and patients
Required Qualifications:
Completion of certificate from an accredited school of Cardiology Technology
Active or eligible registration with the Alberta Society of Registered Cardiology Technologist (ASRCT)
Active or eligible registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists Cardiology Technology (CSCT)
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)
