YMCA of Southwestern Ontario was founded in 1856 and has over 200 locations from Goderich to Point Pelee, and Windsor to Woodstock. We are one of the largest not-for-profit providers of licensed child care in Canada and have over 100 school age programs across our regions. We also offer settlement services to newcomers, employment programs, mental health support, and youth programs. YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates two overnight camps, one in Point Pelee National Park, and one on Beausoleil Island in Muskoka. We also have 15 Health & Fitness branches across Southwestern Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support day-to-day operations of the centre and school-age program, including staffing, family engagement, financial matters, inclusive programming, and YMCA quality outcomes.
  • Follow and ensure the program policies and procedures are in accordance with the regulations of the Program and the Ministry of Education, Child Care Early Years Act.
  • Lead the implementation of an inclusive play-based curriculum that includes How Does Learning Happen and the YMCA Curriculum.
  • Evaluate program quality as required, utilizing the audit tools and quality initiatives, and required records for compliance.
  • Demonstrate YMCA Core Values in all daily interactions.
  • Maintain accurate records, files and forms as required by the Ministry of Education and the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario.
  • Liaise with parents and community partners in a professional manner, maintaining an inviting and inclusive environment.
  • Oversee all registrations of children, monitor enrollment, and maintain occupancy goals of the centre.
  • Manage the centre budget, complete financial forecasting, maintain and report accurate expenses and complete payroll requirements
