Description:

PHSA is seeking a Clinical Coordinator for Patient and Family Counselling Services in Vancouver, British Columbia. The role involves working with the Provincial Director of the Psychosocial Oncology Program to provide clinical services, education, community engagement, and research in psychosocial oncology. Responsibilities include developing evidence-based programs, supervising staff, and providing clinical direction and evaluation. The Coordinator will also collaborate with the Provincial Director to develop and maintain professional standards, implement clinical programs, and provide consultation to other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and coordinate the psychosocial oncology program on a regional level
  • Provide clinical supervision and consultation for staff
  • Prepare work schedules, recruit staff, and conduct performance appraisals
  • Develop and monitor the budget for Patient and Family Counselling
  • Create and implement clinical programs, resources, and services
  • Counsel patients and families on psychosocial concerns
  • Participate in teaching activities and research projects
  • Maintain knowledge of trends in clinical practice and treatment modalities
  • Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant social sciences discipline
  • Five years of experience in a healthcare setting, including two years in an administrative/supervisory role
  • Eligible for registration with a professional regulatory body
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Skills in CPR techniques
