Description:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role at Hamilton Health Sciences involves providing specialized knowledge, skills, clinical leadership, and professional guidance within the Cardiac & Vascular Program. The CNS reports to the Clinical Director - C&V Program and The Chief of Interprofessional Practice. Responsibilities include mentoring nursing and health professional students, participating in continuing education activities, leading programs, presentations, and evaluations, and driving system changes to enhance interdisciplinary care teams.

Qualifications:

Current registration with the College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing

Masters' Degree in Nursing, Quality, or Education

Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in cardiac nursing

Effective communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Leadership, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills

Commitment to patient and family-centered care

Experience in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice

Triage and time management skills

Administrative and computer proficiency

Ability to prioritize tasks and implement process improvements

Promotion of professional development and high professional behavior

Independent action, problem-solving, and organization skills

Participation in reflective practice and personal/professional growth

Membership in relevant professional organizations
