University Health Network (UHN) is seeking a dedicated individual to join the team at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute Rumsey Centre. The position involves working on the Signals for Cardiac and Pulmonary Evaluation (SCAPE) study, which focuses on using wearable and digital monitoring devices for individuals with cardiovascular and/or pulmonary conditions. The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to the study, including participant enrollment, data collection, and regulatory documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Screen, enroll, and follow-up with study participants

Supervise data collection and assist with data entry

The Signals for Cardiac and Pulmonary Evaluation (SCAPE) study explores the use of wearable and digital monitoring devices to capture physiological signals in individuals living with cardiovascular and/or pulmonary conditions. The study aims to improve early detection, monitoring, and management of heart and lung disease by comparing sensor data to standard clinical assessments.Duties   
Our team is seeking a reliable individual who will work closely with the study team to:

Screen, enroll, and followup with study participants through an informed consent process.
 Obtain medical history, schedule appointments and tests as per study protocol, supervise completion or administration of questionnaires.
 Supervise and assist with data collection.
 Prepare and maintain research participant files, complete case report forms, and record adverse events.
 Plan, coordinate and perform aspects of data entry.
 Maintain research regulatory documentation, including assisting with REB applications and amendments.
 Report to sponsor on interventional updates including advances made on reaching our recruitment targets.
 Actively participates in all recruitment activities including inservices, development of marketing materials and the development of progress reports for stakeholder groups.
 Assist with the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and processes.
 May interpret results and prepare materials for presentation, publication and/or grants.
 Conducts literature searches/ reviews for new proposals, as directed.
 Provides support for monitoring, audits and regulatory inspections.
 Perform statistical analyses and generate statistical reports, status reports and other data reports, as required.
 Performs crossfunctional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a health or science related discipline is required.
 Must have 1 to 2 years of clinical and/or relevant professional experience.
 Experience using iOS apps, MS Office software, Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
 Experience with patient contact, communication, and informed consent in a clinical setting.
 Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
 Fundamental knowledge of clinical research principles and practice, and techniques relating to data collection, management and analysis.
 Knowledge of research regulations and guidelines, such as ICH/GCP guidelines, TriCouncil Policy, Declaration of Helsinki and FDA CFR and Health Canada TPD, as required.
 Experience using statistical analysis and data management software required.
 Aptitude in the use of health monitoring devices including health applications.
 Clientservice oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand.
 Able to operate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
 Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
 Strong analytical and problemsolving skills and is receptive to feedback.
 Good judgement, exercises initiative, tact and professionalism in the workplace.
