Description:

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Clinical Therapist to join the Adult Service team in Mental Health and Addictions at South Shore Regional Hospital. The Clinical Therapist will provide assessment, treatment, crisis management, and participate in quality initiatives in the program of care. They will also engage in collaborative person-centered care and utilize information technology to support best practices. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline and be registered with the relevant provincial regulatory body. They should have knowledge of mental health disorders, crisis intervention, and community resources. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline
  • Current registration with relevant provincial regulatory body
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health disorders and crisis intervention
  • Collaborate with families and utilize evidence-informed therapies
  • Awareness of community resources and programs
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset
  • Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of licensed related clinical experience
  • Non-violent crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in multiple software applications
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • Hours:

  • Permanent Full Time Position; 75 Hours Per Week
  • Compensation and Benefits:

  • Clinical Therapist: $42.21 - $58.30 Hourly
  • Clinical Therapist (Developmental): $37.64 - $49.93 Hourly
  • Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
