Description:

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Community Outreach Worker to provide clinical services to adults and families affected by mental illness and substance use. This role involves working in clinic and community settings, offering screening, assessment, intervention, case management, and treatment services. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Social Work, one year of post-BSW clinical experience in Mental Health and Addictions, and the ability to use harm reduction principles and psychosocial rehabilitation.

The successful candidate must have strong communication skills, the ability to de-escalate situations, and experience with group facilitation. Knowledge of community resources, recovery-oriented practice, and trauma-informed care is essential. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical services to adults and families affected by mental illness and substance use
  • Offer screening, assessment, intervention, case management, and treatment services
