Description:

The Coordinator, Educational Programs, Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) office is responsible for supporting residents in residency training programs, ensuring exemplary medical education in diverse and supportive environments. The primary purpose of this role is to work closely with the Associate Dean of PGME to facilitate educational aspects and performance metrics of the PGME Resident Boot Camp, oversee other educational endeavors, and assist in developing additional educational programs. The successful candidate will also act as a resource to facilitate residency training programs with learning plans and assist with resident academic matters.

The Coordinator reports to the Manager, PGME, and collaborates with the Associate Dean PGME to enhance existing and develop new facets of the PGME Resident Boot Camp. The role involves establishing professional relationships with various stakeholders, working independently and in team environments, and maintaining confidentiality. The incumbent must possess sound judgment, decision-making skills, and time management abilities to handle multiple projects with firm deadlines.

Accountabilities:

  • Further develop and oversee the PGME Resident Boot Camp with ongoing enhancements.
  • Provide oversight for educational programs under the PGME umbrella.
  • Assist in developing additional educational programs in non-medical expert CanMEDS roles.
  • Assist with special projects, accreditation reviews, and new program applications.
  • Monitor project progress and facilitate project management.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and publications.
  • Participate in relevant committees and contribute to PGME team meetings.
  • Apply knowledge of educational training requirements and benefit entitlements.
  • Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in education or related field; doctoral degree would be an asset.
  • Three-five years of related experience supporting education in an academic setting.
  • Experience in developing educational programs and project management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse environments.
