Roots Community Services Inc. is seeking a Crisis Support Worker to join their team in the Region of Peel. The role involves providing immediate crisis line response, conducting risk and safety assessments, and developing intervention plans for individuals in crisis due to severe mental illness. This position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and coordination with community organizations to support clients in crisis. The ideal candidate will have experience in the acute mental health sector and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.

The Crisis Support Worker will work full-time on a rotational schedule, including overnights, weekends, and public holidays. The position offers a competitive compensation of $78,000 annually and reports to the Manager of Youth, Mental Health & Addiction Services. Key responsibilities include crisis line response, risk assessments, and collaboration with law enforcement and mental health agencies. The successful candidate must have a valid driver's license, Vulnerable Sector Screening report, and CPR/First-Aid certification. Fluency in French or African languages is considered an asset.

Qualifications for the role include a University Degree in a related discipline, minimum 3 years of experience in mental health, and knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
