Job Summary:

This role reports to the Supervisor, Nutrition Services, providing respectful and individualized service at all times. Responsibilities include creating a "homelike atmosphere" by getting to know residents' names, diets, and communicating concerns to the Registered Nurse and Dietitian.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide respectful and individualized service, observing eating patterns, and communicating concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Re-thermalize menu items and ensure finished product quality.
  • Maintain food safety standards, perform cleaning and dishwashing tasks, and set up dining areas.
  • Transport food and supplies, train co-workers, and provide documentation for audits.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid Food Handler Certificate and relevant experience in healthcare or food service.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills, team-oriented, and effective communication skills.
  • Understanding of Residents' Bill of Rights and Compliance Standards.
  • Completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker program preferred.
  • Working/Employment Conditions:

    Working Conditions:

    Flexibility to work outside of core business hours and perform physical tasks associated with the position.

    Employment Conditions:

    Require a Vulnerable Sector Check and tuberculosis test within the past six months by the first day of employment.
