Job Summary:

This role reports to the Supervisor, Nutrition Services, providing respectful and individualized service at all times. Responsibilities include creating a "homelike atmosphere" by getting to know residents' names, diets, and communicating concerns to the Registered Nurse and Dietitian.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide respectful and individualized service, observing eating patterns, and communicating concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Re-thermalize menu items and ensure finished product quality.

Maintain food safety standards, perform cleaning and dishwashing tasks, and set up dining areas.

Transport food and supplies, train co-workers, and provide documentation for audits.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

Valid Food Handler Certificate and relevant experience in healthcare or food service.

Good organizational and interpersonal skills, team-oriented, and effective communication skills.

Understanding of Residents' Bill of Rights and Compliance Standards.

Completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker program preferred.

Job Summary

Provide respectful, courteous, pleasant and individualized service at all times, provides "homelike atmosphere" by getting to know the residents names, diets, consistencies, likes/dislikes, observes eating patterns, communicates concerns to Registered Nurse and Dietitian, Supervisor.
 Rethermalizing menu items.
 Responsible for the finished quality of all products.
 Responsible and accountable to all aspects of food safety, departmental procedures regarding sanitation and food preparation.
 Perform cleaning, dishwashing and setting up dining room, accountable for microbial tests conducted on servery, dining room equipment or surface areas.
 Transport food wagons and dish wagons to and from servery.
 Pick up supplies and products from production, checks quality, rotates stock on hand, and discards outdated products.
 Train coworkers.
 Supply for special events or functions as per requisitions.
 Provide required documentation for all audits, food usage sheets, and ensures that any relevant information regarding the residents or the servery operation is passed on in writing via the communication book to the appropriate person.
 Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills &amp; Qualifications

Essential

Valid Food Handler Certificate.
 Relevant experience in the fields of health care, restaurant or hospitality food service.
 Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
 Be team oriented and possess effective communication skills.
 Possesses an understanding of the Residents' Bill of Rights and Compliance Standards as set out by the Ministry of Long Term Care.

Preferred

Completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker program.

Working Conditions

Flexibility to work outside of core business hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
 Must be able to perform all the necessary physical tasks associated with the position; including lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.

Current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check by the first day of employment.
 Current (obtained within the past six (6) months) twostep tuberculosis test or QuantiFERONTB Gold plus test by the first day of employment.
